Sunday lunchtime jazz
Lots of people have asked and so we've made it happen. We're bringing back the much-loved, greatly-missed Sunday lunchtme jazz events at the Trades Club.*
The first one is on Sunday August 29 from 1pm and features a fabulous five-piece fronted by flute/sax player Atholl Ransome alongside the undisputed king of jazz guitar-Gary Boyle. The line up is completed by Bruce Reid on double bass, and drummer Jonathan Hartley with vocalist Brian Acton appearing on several numbers.
The Sunday lunchtime gigs will differ from the established Thursday nights as they will be more a showcase for regional and up-and–coming musicians (as opposed to nationally and internationally acclaimed artists).
HX7 is open to programming suggestions for both enterprises: ideas for the lunchtime sessions should be sent to Bruce Reid via brucereid@hotmail.co.uk *HX7 can't run it as the free event it used to be, but admission is only £3, there will be a pleasant, relaxed and informal feel, and Sunday lunches will be available for £5 throughout the afternoon.
